Fort
Bend County, Texas, has been a hot bed of railroad activity for more than 150
years. These days a suburb of Houston, Fort Bend County is crossed by some of
the most active rail lines in the US, including the former-SP "Sunset Route". Living in various communities in this area, the members of the Fort
Bend Model Railroad club are blessed both with the opportunity to see a lot of
full-size trains in action, and to model railroads in N scale indoors as a way
to seek relief from those long hot coastal-Texas summer days....
This is our web site. Please "come on in y'all" and look around. You'll see pictures, information and news about our award-winning NTRAK modules (the picture is a detail of the Imperial Sugar Factory module), as well as prototype railroads in the area from both historical and current perspectives. We try to keep it interesting, and always appreciate your feedback.
Fort Bend Model Railroad is a non-profit organization dedicated to building and maintaining NTRAK modules that reflect the early 1950's "steam-diesel" transition era of railroading as seen from the eyes of the residents of Fort Bend County, Texas. Centered around the Imperial Sugar Factory located in Sugar Land (until December 2002 the oldest continuously-operated business in the state) the club's modules and train rosters reflect the scenery of the area with museum quality dioramas.
